This is going to be a LONG post with tons of pictures! Just so you are warned!!
We left Wednesday Noon for South Carolina. Sam & Katrina's wedding was Saturday, May 9. They had a beautiful wedding and we enjoyed being with family and meeting Katrina's family. I also met some other friends from my past and made some new ones!!
We came home again Sunday. I will let the pictures show you how the weekend unfolded~Thursday was spent making food for the rehearsal supper and then all the Henry family got together at Tim and Miriam's for supper. We also squeezed in some last minute wedding clothes shopping!

Friday around noon we all headed down to Fairplay to help with whatever we could for the wedding and then rehearsal was Friday night. (Our family stayed about 50 minutes north at Gary & Ruth Troyer's home. They only live 10 minutes from Miriam and Tim)
Friday~
Sam setting up all the sound equipment and making sure everything is working right.
Esther & Miriam had to sing in a trio and Dan stepped in to help out till the third vocalist got there....they were getting a little silly!

Danny and Tamara spent alot of time playing up in the loft overlooking the wedding hall.

Rehearsal time....my pics got kind of dark since they had low lighting in the room! But it was a beautiful atmosphere!
Outside, some guys were grilling hot dogs and burgers for supper. Esther, Miriam, Dan's mom and I prepared the rest of the food....
Time to eat....
Thank God for the nice evening!
Saturday~
Danny & Tamara were gift receivers. Tamara held the basket for the cards and Danny carried the big gifts. They had requested mostly $$ gifts since they already have a lot of household items.
Us

My wonderful Man and I

Esther and Uncle Lemuel waiting for the wedding to begin....we stopped in Bainbridge, GA on the way up and picked up Lem to take him along to the wedding.
The kitchen help....
Grandma with her only two grandchildren.(for now
)Table decor...
We sat at a table with Uncle Mel and Aunt Anne.....
and Uncle John and Aunt Norma.
Gary and Rachel Mast were Host and Hostess and were telling people which number table to sit at.
Their wedding was different...it was all in one room. When you came, you were seated at a round table and then they had the ceremony. After they were married, the family and bridal party went out for pictures. During that time the guests had an appetizer and visited. Then when the family was done with pictures, the couple and the bridal party left to have more pics done and the family came back inside. They had a slideshow of pics from Sam and Katrina's lives and then had a game to play. It was 40 some questions and you had to answer if you think it applies to Sam, Katrina or both. The answers were shown in slide form too. Whoever had the most right at each table, got to take home the centerpiece.
When they got back from taking pictures, it was time to eat, have open mic, hear more singing and of course more visiting! A very beautiful wedding~Sam Byler, the best man, read "Sam & Katrina's story" out of an old-looking story book!

The bride and groom...
This picture is especially for the "other Twila"

Special Singing...
Sam & Karen Byler sang a few songs, too. I think Karen even wrote the one especially for Sam & Katrina.
Esther Kauffman was the wedding co-ordinator.
Bride's bouquet
Talking with the man who married them....
I got to meet an old friend from MBS days way back in 1995
Carmen (Yoder) Eaton. It was neat to reconnect even though we didn't have much time. When the bride and groom were ready to leave, everyone grabbed sparklers and headed outside......
They had torches set up all along the walk.
Lighting the sparklers...
Here they come.....
and there they go!

Happy to be leaving...
And off they went......into their happily ever after!

Remember the game....well, Danny won at our table...I would have, except he was there when Sam was setting up the slide show and saw most of the ?? and answers!!
Well, he decided that the flowers were his Mother's Day gift to me....
awww!!Me with the kids......
Dad with the kids.....
These pictures were mostly taken for Tamara. She has a locket that she wants to put some pictures in, so we figured this was a good time to take some!

A few of the pics didn't upload...might add them later. And I have a couple other pictures from the trip I'd like to add to, so I'll probably post again soon!

Twila, thank you, thank you for all the wedding pictures; I really enjoyed seeing my family members and am very happy for Sam and Katrina! ~the other Twila
Nice pictures! I had trouble uploading pictures from the convoy yesterday too. I tried several times and they just would not load.
Just talked to my dad on the phone and he told me who the man is who married Sam and Katrina...it's Eric Yoder...his parents used to live in WI way back when...I haven't seen Eric since he was a young boy but I can sure tell he's from that family...it was fun to figure that out!
I missed your question about Katrina's (and my) Grandma before...she's our 93 y.o. grandma...and great-grandma to my children.
