Dan's parents came Friday night. She brought along some blueberries to can, cucumbers to make relish and corn on the cob. We also went to the Farmer's Market and she bought collards, so our day was spent working in the kitchen! The kids enjoyed helping to make the relish....till the onion got too strong and made them "cry"!
Late afternoon we went fishing at our neighbors pond!
Tamara caught one nice size catfish.....
Casting....
Waiting.....
Unhooking....
Catfish can be tricky...their front fin has a sharp bone in it, so Dan taught Danny to hold in their mouth to remove the hook, so he don't get jug by that sharp bone! (I think this was one they threw back)
The spectators....
Grandpa caught another big one....look at the line bending!
Dan gets another...
I love this pic....a boy and his pole!
And here his comes...with success!
Yeh, I even took a turn. Only caught small stuff!
They had run out of real worms and were using fakes. Somehow the fish know that!
Sunday was a very special day for our family....Danny and Tamara were baptized!! They have the option of immersion or pouring and all 4 in the class wanted immersion. Sometimes they do it in the creek or use the Wesselhoeft's pool. Since Pastor Ivan is getting a little more unstable, the pool seems easier.... Stephen and Robin Redmond
(Thanks to Caroline for all the pics she took for us!!)
It was hot and BRIGHT!!
Kay P. brought her kids...Danny was happy to have Dylan there for the special event!
Ivan asking them questions of comittment...
It was so special that Dan was able to help with the kids baptism!
A daddy's hug means so much!!
Danny's turn
Luke W.
Austin N.
After everyone left, Kay and her kids and our family went swimming!
Looks like Dylan is about to jump on Danny!

After naps and supper, we went to town to take a walk on the bike trail.
The most special people in my life!!
Wonder how long they will let me take a pic like this??
Today (July 13) we celebrate 13 years of marriage!!
Life is wonderful and I am so happy I get to share it with this man...he has helped change me into who I am today....He helped me overcome my fear of what other's think of me (well, mostly!!
) taught me to be more flexible, encouraged me to work through hard spots in my life and also helped me view my Saviour as a loving heavenly Father!! God has also done some wonderful things in his life and I am excited for where the future will lead us!!
Daddy & his girl
My prayer is that my son will never mind being seen with me!
I had a better pic of them here, but this was reminds me of the fun we had!! They had just got up on the top of the rail and Dan put his hand on Danny's back to keep him from falling backward....it scared Danny because he thought something else was touching him! LOL!!
The sky was gettting a stormy look to the west, although we never actually got any rain....just a passing summer storm!
This picture needs a good caption!!

Thank you God for placing this man in my life!!

Looking forward to another week of "summer", then we are going to hit the books again!!

Very lovely pictures! You have a beautiful family!
Happy "Golden" Anniversary! Lovely photos! When I saw the pic of Tamara with the stop sign I thought of that song: "Stop, and let me tell you what the Lord has done for me". Probably not exactly what you were thinking, but it might fit with her special day.
A wonderful weekend indeed! Blessings to you on your anniversary and to your children as they walk with the Lord.
Happy 13th Anniversary -- what a ice weekend you had!
It is very special when your children take such a big step in life. Praise the Lord for the commitment they've made. Congrats on 13 years! That's "big" in today's world.
~You're already starting school back? Why so soon?
@MamaNeen - Why are we starting school so early?? The kids say they are bored this summer and they WANT to start school. I think we'll only do 4 day weeks to start, to keep from burning out....
