Okay, so seekinHISwisdom had blogged about her kitchen and was interested in seeing other people's kitchens. She also asked what some of our favorite kitchen items are, so I added a few pics of some of them, too. I probably went overboard on pics here, but enjoy....
Oh, and by the way....I had to do some serious cleaning up this afternoon to make my kitchen look this good. I did take before pics but am scared to post them. I doubt anybody lets their kitchen get as awful as mine!!
Mail piled up, children's projects all over the bar, jars that need to be taken out to the garage, dirty dishes and groceries that never got put away...plus more all make for a very messy kitchen!!
Those closet doors are hiding my laundry "room". I will pan around to the left and take you all around my kitchen.....
The doorway to the living room is between these two pictures.....
...and then the doorway on the left of the pic below leads into the hall way and we are back to where we started from.~Kitchen Decor~
One of my favorite kitchen "tools" is my flat top stove. I LOVE not having to clean under burners!!We got this stove like new for $100 through the local paper!!
I also LOVE bargains!!
Someday I hope to get another hood. The one that is there is missing all the guts for the light, but the fan works fine. I would LOVE to have a light over my stove. It gets pretty dark back there in the evening!!
My favorite steal of all....we got this beautiful hutch for $140 or so on Ebay!! It was local so we were able to pick it up and save any kind of shipping fees!
I was able to bring all my good dishes in from the garage and unpack and actually USE them....and all our school books are kept in the bottom doors along with some of my bigger Tupperware pieces and my silverware chest.
So there....that is the basics of my kitchen.
When we came to see this house for the first time before moving, I fell in love with the kitchen!! It had plenty of cupboard space and I absolutely LOVE the huge island!!
Early 2008, I painted it the color it is now. It had been white and I had brought all my apple decor along south that I had used in the last couple houses we lived in, in PA. I sold all my apple stuff on Ebay, and replaced it with coffee theme decor!
Time for a cup of coffee....anyone want to join me??I'd love to see YOUR kitchen!

oh, my word, the chairs at your kitchen table look exactly like my mom and dad's chairs! It makes me homesick to look at them!
I like the "cafe" that is written on your wall~ is that one of those adhesive wall words or did you paint it yourself?
I am so excited to be getting one of those glass top stoves this weekend! The house we are moving to, didn't have a stove and yaaaaaa my husband found a nice used glass top for $225!
That 140 dollar hutch is AMAZING!!! I paid 100 at a yard sale for one about half or 1/3 that size!
@smilesbymiles - The "Cafe" wording is vinyl lettering. I wish I could paint that well!!
What a cool idea. I guess this may help me post on xanga again, if i get around to it this week. I always love seeing other people's kitchen and house for that matter. I love the cafe theme as well. I dont drink coffee but love the smell and they have such neat things anymore for that theme. I enjoyed your tour.
your kitchen is so beautiful!!!
i like your kitchen!
Your kitchen looks so warm and inviting!!
Lovely Kitchen! It's so spacious and roomy. I like that the decor does not make it look too cluttered. That seems to be my problem. Great job cleaning up too. One would never guess it may have fit it's former description.
Your kitchen looks like it would be fun to work in. And, come on! our kitchens all get messy too - very messy - at times! I know you are enjoying that hutch.
You do NOT want to see my awful kitchen....
but I love yours!!
Your kitchen is very, very nice!!! I like the coffee theme.
fun to see your kitchen, it's really cute, you do an awesome job! is "cafe" painted on or is it one of those neat wall stickers?
