I am in the market for another camera. I am looking for a small relatively inexpensive camera....under $200. What do you use, features you like about it, things you don't like!?? Thanks~
We love our Canon Powershot SX100IS. It was a little bit more than $200 but well worth it. Got it at WalMart. It has a 10x optical zoom and is 8.0 mega pixels. I wish it could zoom more; but it's not the camera's fault. That comes from us wanting something small (fits in my purse) and didn't cost $700. It takes fabulous outside pics always, close or far away. The only thing that I get frustrated with is that sometimes low-light indoors pics are blurry. My one complaint is the lag time between when you take the pic and it actually "takes the picture." But, I think unless you have a VERY NICE, VERY EXPENSIVE camera; you'll have that with all of them. And this one is better than our last one was. Go to Wally World and play with all the cameras on display. But make sure you purchase one with the highest OPTICAL zoom you can afford. That's important. Happy shopping!
thought you were looking for a bigger one? are you looking for both? Mine is a canon from Walmart too, I think it's the same as what the last comment was talking about. Kay has one too.
ok I just looked at my camera, is is the very same as she was talking about! I love mine too!
The bigger one will come after tax time hopefully....I'd like to get a smaller one for carrying in my purse right now.
@ziggswife - @floridayankees - I had looked at the Canon SX120 but it does not have a viewfinder and I see the 100 doesn't either! Don't you ever wish for one?? I think I would.... ??
@floridabreze - I don't because I'm so old that my bifocals wouldn't let me use the silly thing, haha!
@floridayankees - Hmmm...then are you sure it's an SX100?? Because I don't see a viewfinder on them...just an lcd screen.
What kind of camera are you getting with the tax refund? I would think maybe spending around a hundred for the purse cam then going and additional hundred or so on a lens for the bigger camera. Buy the body alone, then get a zoom lens with an f2.8 instead of the f3.5 that comes on most of them, just a thoughtt.:)
I have a Samsung SL620, which is for the purse. It is 12.2 mega Pixels and takes great pictures. I did have problems with not being able to keep it steady when zooming in and so he changed some setting on my camers when does the job. I think I paid around $130.00 from Best Buy. I don't know what the price is now as it was on special.
