Birthday Boy...and Our Day
Friday was Danny's 12th birthday! As is tradition, we take a break from school on birthdays, so we spent the day doing other things. Danny wanted to have a birthday party this year and it was only going to work for Sunday, so we did some cleaning in the morning and also got some things ready for me to set up a Tupperware stand at our town's Christmas on the Square on Saturday. Also, Friday was our monthly park day with our homeschool group. I wasn't sure if we would go since Danny was getting over a cold and it had been cold and windy the day before. We decided to go out for lunch and treat everyone with cupcakes! AND I FORGOT MY CAMERA!!!
We had a big crew again and the kids had lots of fun! Turned out to be a warmer day.
Dan came home from work a little early and we went to Panama City for Danny's b-day supper. He wanted to eat at Chick-fil-A and since we planned to take them to see "Despicable Me" in the dollar theater in the mall, we also ate in there.
The birthday boy with his favorite sister!!
Before we left, Danny got to open his birthday gift....he waited all day to see what might be in this box!
He was excited to see it was a "Green Machine" like he saw and "circled" in the ToysR Us catalog (after I had already bought and hid it!)
He loved the Hoops and YoYo card, too!
We also gave him some $$ to buy a BB pistol he has been wanting.
After eating supper in the mall, we had some time to goof off till movie time. We came across this water ball display and decided to treat the kids to a little more fun.
Inside the ball while they were filling it with air.
Tamara had to hold her ears shut!
And there she goes....
They had SO much fun, it was worth the $$ we spent! It was so hard for them to stand up. Danny ended up doing flips and spinning himself that way!
Tamara standing....for a very short time!
We went in to Payless. Tamara needs church shoes and Danny needs sneakers. Man, right now our kids feet are growing so fast. Tamara is wearing a 6 sneaker, but we had to go to size 8 dress shoes!!
She wanted to try on some heels!
She was quite wobbly!
We did not find any shoes for either of them. There wasn't a good selection and what they had were $25-$40 shoes. I can't spend that much when they outgrow them so fast, even with a 20% off coupon!!
So we keep looking. We really need to find something for Tamara soon. It is too cold to wear sandals to church anymore!

Beautiful shoes Tamara!!! Looks like Danny really enjoyed his B-day, Hannah Grace saw those balls in the mall and wanted to do them too, we didn;t yet, but I think I might, since it;s her b-day month too. We'll be going to PCity next Friday and we;re supposed to find out pink or blue!
Water balls! What they won't think of next! But I can imagine they would be a lot of fun - like something I would have enjoyed when I was 12. I'm sure Danny had a birthday to remember.
Do you still need shoes? My Cali is 9yrs old and growing like a weed, too. I dont ever know what to do with her shoes so I end up donating them to a thrift store. I'd be glad to mail them to you, if you're ok with second hand shoes. She is in a size 8 right now, but they are getting tight, and we're on the lookout for new shoes.
