  • Cold and Gingerbread Houses

December was an unusually COLD month for North Florida!  We had many nights in the low 20's and teens and a few days that didn't make it out of the 30's. Many mornings we had heavy frost, which I hear puts the fire weather watch extremely high because the frost kills everything making it more susceptible to catching fire because it is so dry! bummed

This particular morning there was even frost in the trees and on all the bushes! surprised It didn't show up real well on this picture. I was too cold to go out and get one closer up! silly

Dan's Dad came and stayed one night. He was picking up his brother, Lemuel, to take him to spend Christmas with their family. Anyway, he brought his guitar along to give to Danny. He also brought a "teach yourself to play" manual. Danny is enjoying it! I hope he can stick at it and learn. I guess I need to help motivate and encourage him...

Did ya see that cover on the back of the sofa in the above pic?? happy Here is a better picture of it. My sister Gina made that for me for my birthday! I LOVE it!! She does so many neat things and I don't know how she finds the time....probably not having internet is a factor there! winky

Last Tuesday [a week ago] my friend Yolie invited us over for the day just to hang out. The kids had so much fun playing outside in the Pine woods and we had some good heart-to-heart encouraging-each-other type of discussions. happy I really needed that!

We also helped the kids make Gingerbread houses!! They kind of flopped, but it was fun anyway! happy
