  • Burdens

I feel so burdened tonight….today was not a good day! I found out about 2 friends who have cancer, another local lady who has had cancer for awhile and now it has spread to her brain, little Ayla needs surgery and my sister has too much amniotic fluid and is on the verge of pre-eclampsia….    Why God??

    Please pray….
for Darlene ~a dear friend I met when she started dating a guy from our church in PA. Her and her husband sing with Good News, who Dan was a part of before we moved south. They have four young daughters. She was just diagnosed with breast cancer after having a lump removed that they were pretty sure was just a benign tumor. Darlene is so young…only 28…

for Becky ~heard she has cancer in her kidneys. Her husband is on the board for Gospel Express Ministries South and we got to work together at the bake stand at the annual GEMS auction for the last 3 years! (in the blue dress, white apron)

for Ayla ~her little body is fighting pneumonia and they have to do surgery to drain her lung…she kept getting worse even on antibiotics and oxygen. Pray for her momma, too as she sits by her daughters side each day!!

for Gina ~my sweet younger sister…. ya Gina!! (striped one ) We are praying for the safety of your little one…

…and for Doris Ebersole, the lady in town whose cancer has spread….her and her family lived near Dan’s family when he was about 8 years old. The Ebersoles also served in Canada for quite a few years!

I feel so blessed tonight…my little ailments seem so small in the light of all this…
God, give each one your peace and comfort tonight….

  • No wonder your heart is heavy!  I will pray for these ladies too…  God is still God in the valley…

  • its seems we do not have to look very far these days to see this all around us!   What a great thing it is that we as Christians can band together and pray for each other!

  • Prayers for your family and friends. I have a friend who’s neice is around 28. She is pregnant with their fifth child and was diagnosed recently with breast cancer. They have also found it in her lymph nodes.

  • Keep us updated on Becky….she is my hubbys cousin!  I came across a little verse…  We can trust His hand even when we don’t understand His plan.   How true that is, but oh so hard.

  • Oh, my, that is enough to make one feel burdened.  I will pray for you and your friends as each one deals with their illnesses.

  • Oh my! It seems like bad news often comes in groups of two or three. Thanks for sharing so we can pray. Your last comment about your ailments seeming so small really struck me. I needed that!

  • I know all about heavy hearts. It seems like are little church is being bombarded right now.Lowell feels especially burdened for Darlene. He can totally sympathize with her.He is now halfway done with radiation.Yay! We have so much to be thankful for! This is supposed to be a cure, not just adding a few more years. If the Lord wills,he can expect a “normal” lifespan!

  • I am so sorry that your friends have to experience this, I will pray that you can speak love and understanding into their life.

  • Burdens are lifted at Calvary!!, I will pray for the sick and ill that the doctors will know how to treat  them also for those who stand by and feel so helpless and  I’m so sorry about Gina, I hadn’t heard. I will pass on the information to other members of the family as I talk to them. Did you know Donna lives in Salisbury MD. ? I almost feel like she is my neighbor although 50 miles apart.

  • @jiggyfish - Yes, I did know they moved, but didn’t know they live that close to you!! Have you got to see her yet? Thanks for your encouragement!!

  • I definitely am with you there on feeling burdened Twila. Hopefully it draws us all closer to the Lord and keeps our eyes on the life to come where there will be no more sickness or pain or sorrow.

Hope you have a great time on your little trip.

  • will be praying burdens shared are often lighter to bear.

  • Just wondering…is Marlin the husband of Doris??

  • Praying for healing and comfort and strength! So many sorrows all around us. No wonder God tells us to pray without ceasing. God bless and give you and your loved ones hugs today.

  • @D_n_S_80 - Yes, he is! Do you know them?

  • @floridabreze - ???  Somewhat, we spent a night in their home 20-something years ago. We know ‘where they belong’!

  • Oh, my, no wonder your heart is heavy.

RYC: the reason it’s so green is because our landloard adds winter grass to our lawn each year.  The regular stuff probably isn’t quite as green as yours, yet.  But spring is nearly here!!!
